Tribute to Mário Soares

A session to commemorate the centenary of Mário Soares' birth, with the participation of national and foreign personalities. Vol. 3 of the Collection of Works by Mário Soares - ‘Writings of the Resistance’ - will be launched during the event.

The session will take place in Auditorium 2 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon on 7 December at 16:30.

Programa

• Welcome by the President of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
• Presentation of vol. 3 of the Collection of Works by Mário Soares, ‘Writings of the Resistance’, by José Pacheco Pereira.
• Speech by João Soares.
• Screening of a film about Mário Soares.
  
• Personal testimonies about Mário Soares and his legacy.
• Video testimonies by Felipe González, former President of the Spanish Government, and António Guterres, UN Secretary-General.
• Institutional speeches: President of the European Council, António Costa; President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves; President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
