This website was created and is owned and operated by The Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation, with head office at Rua de S. Bento 176, 1200-821 Lisbon, legal person no. 502 607 122, (hereafter “FMSMB”). Its use is governed by the following Terms and Conditions.

Website users acknowledge that their use of this website implies that they accept these Terms and Conditions.
Alteration of Terms and Conditions
FMSMB shall be entitled to – at any time, with no need for notifying in advance and with immediate effect, alter, add, update or discard, partially or totally, these Terms and Conditions.
Users should consult these Terms and Conditions periodically, to look for any updates or alterations. If you do not agree with any of the user conditions, you should not use this website.
Access to the Website
Website access is not subject to registration. FMSMB has the exclusive right to, at any time, partially or totally suspend the access to the website, especially (but not exclusively) when operations of management, maintenance, repairing, alteration or modernization take place.
FMSMB can also decide to temporarily or definitively close, at any time, the website or any of its services, without prior notice.
Intellectual Property Rights
Users recognise that this website, its structure and layout, the selection, organization and presentation of its contents, including its functionalities and the software used therein, as well as the brands, logotypes and symbols shown on the website, belong to FMSMB or have been duly licensed to the Foundation.
Users recognises that the contents of this website (texts, images, graphs, brands, sound and animation, along with all other information and elements contained in the website) are protected by intellectual property rights and their use is limited to the legally allowed terms, with mandatory identification of their provenance.
FMSMB is responsible for the design, layout and paging of all information, contents and materials shown on the website. Therefore, the Foundation can, at any time, update, modify or discard any contents, services, options or functionalities, as well as changing their presentation and configuration and altering the respective URLs.
Users are not authorized to share, communicate to the public, publish, make available to the public, modify, change, copy, sell, use or distribute, in any form, the texts, images, or other information contained in this website, or part thereof, without prior authorization, in writing, by the FMSMB, save when such possibility is authorized on the website.
These terms and conditions cannot harm the protection of copyrights or associated rights granted by the Code of Copyrights and Associated Rights, as approved by Decree-Law no. 63/85, of 14 March 1985 and other applicable legislation. The Foundation’s custody in matters of personality rights i salso safeguarded, in accordance with articles 70 to 81 of the Civil Code, as approved by Decree-Law no. 47344, of the 25 November 1966, and other applicable legislation.
Request for authorizing the use of documents, videos and images of the FMSMB archives, including those published at Casa Comum (www.casacomum.org) must be made by sending an email. The use may also be subject to the payment of fees.
Users must check if there are any third-party rights and obtain all the permissions required to develop their activities without infringing property rights, nor violating any duty, or violating any agreement with third parties.
Should any contents be used in breach of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions and other applicable legislation, users shall be made individually accountable, in general terms, and no consequences can be attributed to the FMSMB. Users shall defend, indemnify and exempt the FMSMB from any claims, lawsuits, expenses (including lawyer fees), damage, loss and responsibilities resulting from, or associated with, any breach of these terms and conditions.

To use this website, you do not necessarily need to supply any personal data. Nevertheless, should you wish to submit requests for contacts and clarification, file a claim, make comments or suggestions, or give your consent to data processing for marketing purposes (including subscription of the Foundation’s newsletters), you shall give us certain personal data. Such data shall be processed according to the terms defined in our Privacy Policy, available at this website.

FMSMB is not responsible, nor does it support or subscribe to, in any possible way, the contents of such websites, nor of any websites connected to them, or referred to by them.
