Collections
The Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation keeps, as custodian, a collection of museum artefacts, mostly from private individuals. Special reference should be made to the objects offered to Mário Soares during his public life, as Prime Minister and President of the Republic.
The collections also include works of art, honorary decorations and academic garments worn by Mário Soares and Maria Barroso.
The collection is deposited at the João Soares Museum-House, in Leiria.
Services
Collection loans
Items belonging to the collections of the Foundation may be lent for exhibition in activities of cultural and/or scientific nature. Each loan shall consider the state of conservation of the originals and the authorization of the respective holders, in the case of funds and collections deposited at the Foundation. It shall also depend on general and specific conditions that the borrower must comply with.
