Organisation, processing and availability of the Ingeborg Lippmnann Archive
Organisation, processing, description and digitisation of the archive of photojournalist Ingeborg Lippmann.
Lippmann's archive consists of around 6,278 photographic records (2,411 black and white negatives, 3,081 slides and 656 photographic proofs) and 52 textual records, including texts of reports she wrote, correspondence with magazine and newspaper editors, photo captions, news bulletins, credentials, among other materials produced in the context of reports in countries and territories in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and South America, which illustrate her career over several decades.
These records document, among other events, the Lebanese Civil War, the transition to independence in Angola and Mozambique and the Angolan Civil War. A substantial number of the images correspond to wildlife records, in which African fauna stands out. The archive also includes Lippman's stories about the historic cities of Istanbul, Cairo, Palmyra, Damascus and Tyre and a collection of photographs of Portugal during the 60s.
