Mário Soares-EDP Foundation 2024 Award Ceremony

The award ceremony for the Mário Soares-Fundação EDP 2024 Award will take place on January 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Foundation's auditorium (Rua de S. Bento, 176).

Programa

• Institutional speeches: Isabel Soares, Mário Soares and Maria Barroso Foundation; José Manuel dos Santos, EDP Foundation.
• Speech by the President of the Jury, Ângela Coutinho.
• Conversation with political scientist Marina Costa Lobo, historian Pedro Aires Oliveira and the winner of the prize, historian Carolina Pereira Henriques. Moderated by Pedro Jorge Castro.
• Guided visit to the exhibition “Mário Soares: 100 Years”, as part of the celebrations for Mário Soares' centenary.
  

In its 26th edition, the prize was awarded to the work “Escaping the War and the Holocaust through Portugal: refugees in the ‘fixed residence’ areas of the Central region (1940-1946)”, by Carolina Henriques Pereira. An honorable mention was also awarded to the work “História da UNITA: da Fundação ao Acordo de Alvor (1966-1975)”, by João Fusco Ribeiro.
