Mário Soares Citizenship and Development Award
Created in 2021 by the Portuguese Socialist Delegation to the European Parliament, S&D Group - Association of Members. It is awarded annually and is intended to recognise students in the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education for their work in highlighting the European dimension of citizenship.
The Mário Soares Citizenship and Development Award is given annually and is intended to honour students in the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education for their work in the field of valuing the European dimension of citizenship.
Also included in the thematic area of the Award are works from other disciplines that are part of these cycles of studies and which aim to contribute to the development of citizens' sense of belonging to the European Union.
The Mário Soares Award consists of a visit to the European Parliament, with the winning contestants receiving a trip and a two-night stay in Brussels.
The Award is organised by the Portuguese Socialist Delegation to the European Parliament, the S&D Group - Association of Members of Parliament.
