Organisation, processing, digitisation and availability of the Inácio Ludgero Archive

Organisation, processing, description and digitisation of the archive of photojournalist Inácio Ludgero.
Inácio Ludgero's archive consists of an extensive photographic collection (black and white negatives, slides, photographic proofs and contact proofs), which illustrates the various decades of his professional career as a photojournalist, namely his collaboration with A Capital, O Jornal and Visão magazine, recording the reports he covered in different contexts both in Portugal and abroad.
A substantial part of his collection documents the events of 25 April and 1 May 1974, as well as some moments that marked the subsequent revolutionary period, namely the military movements of 11 March and 25 November 1975. It also illustrates the political and social effervescence of the time, capturing aspects of the Agrarian Reform, strikes, demonstrations, plenaries, political rallies and attacks on party centres. Among the Portuguese politicians portrayed from this period are Adelino Amaro da Costa, Adelino da Palma Carlos, Álvaro Cunhal, António de Almeida Santos, António Barreto, António de Spínola, Francisco da Costa Gomes, Diogo Freitas do Amaral, Hermínio da Palma Inácio, José Manuel Tengarrinha, José Pinheiro de Azevedo, Hermínio da Palma Inácio, Mário Soares and Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho.
The archive also includes a press collection, with all the issues of O Jornal, identification documents, correspondence, leaflets for exhibitions, copies of photography courses, application forms for the Gazeta Prize and other working materials used in the various books he published throughout his career.
