The Foundation has organised, described and digitised 207 issues of the Portugal Socialista newspaper, the communication organ of the Portuguese Socialist Action (ASP) and the Socialist Party (PS), which are available for access and consultation through the Casa Comum platform.

Founded in Rome by Manuel Tito de Morais, its first issue came out on 1 May 1967, Workers' Day. As the central organ of the ASP and later, from 1973, of the PS, it took on an editorial line during the underground period of denouncing the Estado Novo and condemning colonialism and the Colonial War, affirming itself from the outset as ‘the organ of all Portuguese socialists who, in the interior of the country and in emigration, tirelessly fought against fascism, with democratic socialism as its fundamental axis’.

After 25 April 1974, it intensified its activity as the official information organ of the PS and in defence of the establishment of the ideals of democratic socialism in Portugal. In the following decades, it became an important platform for publicising the party's activities, as well as for socialist militants to express themselves.
