Centenary stamps

The launch of the ‘Mário Soares and Maria Barroso - 100 Years of Birth’ philatelic issue, promoted by CTT - Correios de Portugal, will take place on 2 May 2025, at 11am, at the Grémio Literário Library in Lisbon.

The session will be opened by Raul Moreira, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Portuguese Communications Foundation. This will be followed by an evocation of Maria de Jesus Barroso by António Pinto-Marques, President of the Grémio Literário. A tribute to Mário Soares will be given by Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins, President of the Literary Council.

Representing CTT, its CEO, João Bento, will speak, followed by a speech by the families of the honoured.

The ceremony will also include the symbolic obliteration of the stamp issue, culminating in the closing of the session.
